Vladimir Pershin: Let’s try together to understand

Владимир Першин's picture

A lot of “blablabla” on the site. Better let’s try together to understand the specific question — about the international currency reserves of the CBR. For the formation of these reserves the CB over the past 8 years bought foreign currencies at the amount of 700 billion U.S. dollars (about 500 they have now plus 200 disappeared during the crisis). It costs about 20 trillion rubles (at current exchange rate). I wonder from what sources the Central Bank took such a huge amount of rubles if it is known for sure that they have never had their own ruble sources in such a huge amount and the federal budget had never planned corresponding ruble expenses on the formation of foreign currency reserves. What would be your opinions?
